Get well soon

The idea for this card has been in my head ever since I saw the new challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge blog last Monday. Today I finally had some time to actually sit down and create it. The theme this week is 'Trio of colors'. I used three SSS inks to create the background, namely Sunkist, Duckling and Wisteria.

First I cut a square piece of white cardstock and with one of the SSS Stitched Squares dies cut another square in the middle of it. Then I applied the three colors of ink.

Next I stamped the cardstock with Black Color Box pigment ink and the Cover-a-Card Ornate Flower stamp from Impression Obsession and heat embossed it with clear powder.

Because I applied the black ink by smearing the ink pad over the stamp instead of dabbing it, the impression got a slightly grungy feel to it.

With the Craftables Tiny's Lily (CR1306) from Marianne Design I die-cut a piece of white cardstock. After embossing I left the paper in the die and took the Sunkist and Duckling inks and some water to color the embossed parts. After taking the paper from the die I continued by coloring the rest of the paper slightly lighter with these inks and the Green Apple ink from Simon.

On a bigger square of white cardstock I smudged some more Sunkised to create a mat to place behind the stamped layer.

The card was finished by pasting the Sunkised colored layer onto a white base card and attaching the stamped layer with foam tape on top of it. On the piece of white cardstock that was cut from the middle of the stamped layer I stamped the sentiment with the Get Well Soon stamp (CS0895) from Marianne Design. I pasted this onto the card. To finish it I pasted the flowers onto the card and took some enamel dots and transparent sequins.

I hope you like what I created! With this card I want to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Trio of Colors"
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Make it Colorful"
